Registration Agreement

Yes, we've got rules.

These are the basic guidelines for behavior on the site.

1.  Don't do anything, or suggest anything, illegal.  Don't tell anyone how to skirt the law, or link to places that teach you how to get away with breaking the law.  If you don't like a law, you fight to change a law.  If you personally choose to ignore a law, that's on you.  But you don't get to use our platform to disseminate ways to break the law.

2.  No name-calling.  No ad hominem attacks.  You don't have to agree, but you don't get to act like a jerk about your disagreements, no matter how frustrating.

3.  Stay within the boundaries of reality.  9-11 was not an inside job.  The Holocaust was not a hoax.  Richard Spencer is a racist.  Barack Obama is a US citizen.  The prequels were in no way, shape, or form better than the original trilogy.  Not everyone you disagree with is automatically Hitler.

4.  When you make a claim, you bear the burden of proof.  You are not allowed to throw out some random assertion and then tell everyone else it's their job to go look it up.  If you are asked to provide the proof of your claim, it is your job to provide the proof.  And "proof" doesn't include Breitbart, InfoWars, Rachel Maddow, Sean Hannity, or Occupy Democrats.  If one of those is your source, find a better source.

5.  If there's a "consolidated" thread somewhere, then respect it.  Those were created to keep certain topics from overwhelming the message boards with 2093845720394857 different individual threads.  We've seen this rodeo before, and we've been successful managing it this way.

6.  Don't pretend to be someone you're not.  Don't plug in your descriptor as "generally liberal" and then spend all your time defending unlimited second amendment rights and the absolutely necessity of immediately outlawing abortion.  Own who you are.  We (probably) won't judge.

7.  Don't consume the Mods' attention in a negative way.   We're here to help keep things civil, but we won't hesitate to remove people that are simply here to cause a problem.

OK, so here's all the legalese that the lawyers want
